A technical exchange on professional stage lighting and sound came to a successful conclusion at Ningxia People’s Theater. The event was hosted by Advanced Communication Equipment (International) Company Ltd (hereinafter referred to as ACE), and supported by Ningxia People’s Theater Operations Management Co., Ltd and Ningxia Institute of Stage Design, in the beautiful city of Yinchuan, Ningxia, in March, this year.
In its visit to the city, ACE brought to our industry friends in the northeastern market not only powerful and professional sound products, but first-class lighting products and large engineering cases. To obtain the best effects at the event, ACE’s experienced technical and sales teams promoted products and shared with the attendees how to use them.
Prior to the event, we invited 80 industry representatives that included weak current integrators, distributors, performing groups, as well as specialists and mixers from the radio & TV industry, which combined to reach 130. Award-winning quizzes were made at each part of the event, where the whole audience was active to raise their hands and answer questions, in a very fervent atmosphere. We presented JBL VTX A8 -Harman’s latest dual 8" line array loudspeaker - for the audience to listen to, together with the classic SRX series, the VRX series, and the PRX series PA loudspeakers, CROWN’s IT4*3500HDS digital amplifiers, SOUNDCRAFT Vi consoles, Si Expression series digital consoles, and SHURE’s QLX-D and ULX-D digital wireless systems for introduction and presentation. With respect to lighting, we demonstrated grandMA3 - a brand new control system of Germany’s MA Lighting, the latest Scenius series of Italy’s Clay Paky, and other products that were nimble and easier to use.
▶ JBL VTX A8 line array loudspeaker technology lecture & audio-visual presentation
The JBL VTX A8 line array loudspeakers introduced this year were used for the lecture, coupled with the VTX S25 subwoofers, earning great recognition from the present specialists.
With proprietary JBL transducers and latest-generation high-frequency waveguide acoustic design, JBL VTX A8 offers performance, efficiency and 110° horizontal coverage, and a maximum sound pressure level of up to 139dB that delivers even sound stage coverage, providing a compact solution for all sorts of small and medium-sized rental applications, touring performances, audio-visual artistic performances of companies, and theaters.
As the best partner of JBL, CROWN amplifiers have always been supporting its perfect delivery behind the scene. The CROWN ITHD series digital amplifiers used at the event had powerful built-in DSP processing, in conjunction with the preset programmes of JBL loudspeakers to perfectly demonstrate the unique sound of JBL VTX A8.
▶ JBL SRX800P series active speaker
The JBL SRX800P series active speakers (including 812P, 815P, 835P, 818SP, 828SP) are equipped with the patented Differential Drive® technology to be able to deliver increased power handling, exceptionally low distortion and extended low frequency response.
The JBL SRX800P series active speakers have built-in power amplifiers that utilize CROWN’s proprietary DriveCore amplification technology, coupled with a powerful 400MHz SHARC DSP that includes 20 PEQ’s, 2 seconds of delay, signal generators, Input mixing, amplifier monitoring, and 50 User Presets. Amplifiers can be directly connected via HiQnet Network Control to debug and monitor.
▶ Soundcraft Vi3000 digital console
As the main control at the heart of the sound reinforcement system for the event, Soundcraft Vi3000 digital console left a deep impression on the present specialists with its easy operations. Soundcraft’s digital consoles have very extensive applications, in particular its Vi series that were often seen at various important and large events. The brand new Mirror function of the Vi digital consoles can offer 2 mirror hot backups via network cables to ensure smooth running of performances. In addition, the Vi series can also deliver VMIX automatic mixing and SHURE wireless microphone monitoring. Such practical and interesting new functions would make mixers’ tasks easier.
▶ Soundcraft Si Expression digital console
As a highly cost-effective small digital console, the Si Expression digital console is equipped with the FaderGlow™ technology to illuminates the fader slots and a simple and intuitional operation interface, attracting the attention of the audience with its deja-vu analog console operation style. The Si Expression series consoles (ESi1, ESi2, and ESi3) have global mode encoders, assignable fader layers, professional Lexicon™ effects, with each bus featuring graphic EQ. It possesses a Vil microphone front amplifier, USB storage, snapshot, and other functions that various small digital consoles have.
▶ Introduction on how to use SHURE QLX-D/ULX-D and antenna system, SHURE WWB6 microphone testing software application, and analysis on popular cases
In complicated and volatile RF environment, SHURE QLX-D and ULX-D digital wireless microphones can demonstrate excellent performances with its unparalleled signal stability and clear audio. Its intelligent and advanced networked control enables mixers to rapidly set up all wireless microphone frequency points prior to a performance to ensure its smooth running.
We also introduced SHURE WWB6 Wireless Workbench software at the event, which has been a very important tool in performances. The Chinese version has now been available to Chinese users in its latest edition, allowing more Chinese users to get more professional in the wireless field.
▶ grandMA3 demonstration
The grandMA3, the brand new series control system from Germany’s MA Lighting, is more powerful than MA2. At the heart of the grandMA3 control system is a powerful new MA designed processing engine featuring high performance Intel® technology. The capacity and power of the cutting-edge hardware is far in excess of current requirements, allowing plenty of headroom for future developments. The elegant new system-architecture incorporates new fixture, feature and effects-handling at its very heart. The grandMA3 breaks the limitations of Local Area Networks (LAN) with the ability to access Wide Area Networks (WAN). Software updates, technical support, online help and fixture downloads are all features to be supported within the WAN framework. Using the advanced MA-Net3 protocol, grandMA3 systems can output up to 250,000 parameters.
▶ Clay Paky, Ayrton, and ADB demonstration & lighting case studies
The Scenius series (1400W Unico/Spot/Profile lamp with a very high CRI and luminance) and K-EYE as the latest product of Italy’s Clay Paky, Ghibi, Wildsun-K25, and S25 as Ayrton’s latest LED lamp, and Belgium’s Arkaos video server were all put on for lighting and audio technical exchanges at the Ningxia People’s Theater.
Ayrton’s latest highly compact lamp - the 600W LED spot luminaire, Bora’s 750W LED dyeing spot luminaire, and Khamsin’s 750W LED spot luminaire were put on display.
* Ghibli lamp weighs only 35.6kg, but can deliver light output of up to 23,000 lumens.
* Bora lamp weighs 37.8kg with a light output delivered up to 42,000 lumens.
* Khamsin lamp weighs 39.8kg with a light output delivered up to 40,000 lumens.
* These three types of lamp are unparalleled in terms of weight, size, and luminance.
