Application of Soundcraft Stagebox
A console is usually placed at the back of the auditorium when sound reinforcement is made for a live performance. So a lot of long cables are required to connect audio devices (inputs) and loudspeakers (outputs) with the console, which means greater cable use costs and a higher failure probability. And it would require much time to do troubleshooting while any problems occur.
The MSB (Mini Stagebox) can be placed in the area of the stage when it’s used with the Soundcraft Si Impact digital console. For example, with the mic/line inputs and outputs, a MSB can be used by a band on stage to monitor their own voices. As such, the band can finish their arrangements with very short cables. Another MSB can be added to connect with other live audio devices and provide input signals for speakers such as FOH (Front of House). This can be done with just two Cat 5 cables connected with the Si Impact console and without having to put and connect a lot of long and complicated analog signal cables, in such a way that would improve the security, reliability and efficiency of a live performance.
I/O Expansion through MADI
With option cards, Soundcraft Si Impact digital console can enhance its I/O performance. The cards, such as MADI, are all the main industry-standard interfaces for connection-oriented communication in the current audio industry. Si Impact allows you to set the I/O on your own demand with the built-in connectivity of a Soundcraft stagebox. For instance, you can use the stagebox for a live performance of a band, or place it in a studio with a Cat 5 cable connected.

These stageboxes, connected with Cat 5 cables, can have an effective signal transmission distance of up to 100 meters. Installed with fiber optic MADI interfaces, the stageboxes can transmit signals for longer distances with fiber optic cables connected.

MADI/USB expansion card supplied with the console
The Soundcraft Si Impact digital console is supplied with a MADI/USB expansion card. The MADI interface can be connected with the Soundcraft MSB to get more mic preamps channels to mix. It has built-in 32 I/O USB recording and playback interfaces that support connection with PC or MAC, directly transmitting multi-track recording to any digital audio working stations. It also allows sending and receiving of up to 32 inputs and 32 outputs to/from DAW for the use of recording and playback. Not only can it make recording faster, but also it can deliver first-class sonic quality.
Apart from the MADI/USB expansion card supplied with the console, the Si Impact also supports a second card slot to expand its performance.
Added with a second MADI expansion card, the console would be able to connect two Soundcraft MSB (32R and 32i or 16R and 16i) at the same time with a maximum number of 96 mic preamps.
