On March 7th, 2018, the poetry reading, From Shikumen to Tiananmen, was held at the Opera House of the National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA), hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture, Radio, Film & TV, and organized by the Centre for China Shanghai International Arts Festival (CSIAF), the Public Media Community of Shanghai Media Group (SMG), and the NCPA. Over 40 artists presented artistic exhibitions and performances, in a new way that eulogized the 97-year-old glorious history of the Communist Party of China (CPC), in a bid to learn and publicize the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the CPC.
The audio system in this event was designed, installed, tested and produced by the audio team of the SMG Technical Operation Centre. Mr. Cheng Weimin acted as the audio designer. And ACE high-end wireless service team provided on-site technical support.
Axient Digital Making A Glittering Debut
It's the first time that the Axient Digital digital wireless systems were used in the performance of this series. 10 channel ADs were used, including 6 channel handheld and 4 channel bodypack transmitters. By monitoring every Axient Digital channel on the network through a headphone output on the front panel of a receiver, the exclusive Dante Cue of Axient Digital helped ensure everything that related to audio was normal before performers came onto the stage.
The newly-added channel quality metering function enables us to have a clear understanding of RF signal-to-noise. And Wireless Workbench (WWB) allows us to monitor not only the strength of RF signals, audio signals, and battery power, but also the RF signals quality.

56 Channel Wireless System Running Simultaneously
A total of 56 channels were used in this event, including Axient® Digital 10 channels, AXIENT 20 channels, UHFR 18 channels, and QLXD 8 channels.
So many wireless channels were used in this event.Not only that, WWB static field scanning found that there was great shortage of spectrum resources. So rationally building systems and making reasonable frequency plans are critical.
In terms of antenna system designs, we still chose UA874, the active directional antenna. As there were too many LED Display Screens at the stage, we placed the antennas on both wings of the stage to avoid the screens and at the same time cover the whole stage area.
In building the system, we chose a UA845 as the primary antenna distributor of the system, and connected another two UA845, two AXT631 and a UA844 as the secondary antenna distributors via the primary UA845, to allow AD, AXT, UR and QD access to the system.
G20-Level Wireless System Coming Out Again
Following system building, we started to conduct wireless frequency planning, setting the safest and cleanest frequency points that could be used for each channel. At the same time, we made field tests to see whether all the parameters of the host microphones were normal at the performing area. After the performance began, we carried out real-time monitoring of mic RF signals, audio signals, battery power and other parameters via WWB, in case of any emergencies.
The safety of the wireless system is key to this important event. We used 3 computers to monitor all the parameters of the wireless system in real time. The first computer was in place to monitor whether the RF and audio signals of all the receivers were normal; the second one to scan the on-site wireless environment in real time in case of any contingencies; and the third one to check whether the RF intensity and audio signals of the transmitters in each channel were in the normal range in real time via Timeline.

The poetry reading finally came to a successful conclusion, and with that, the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the CPC deeply impressed the people who watched the performance.
