The Sun Music Festival 2018 was held on Apr. 29th & 30th at Shanghai Dripping lake. It is a large-scale outdoor music festival co-hosted by Sunshine Group and Pudong Media Group.
Lingang Area, where the lake is located, is a vibrant coastal new town. This year, many famous musicians and bands from China mainland, Hongkong and Taiwan were participated in this show, they brought a wonderful and diversified performance including rock, folk, jazz, electronics, pop etc.
In order to meet the requirements of diversified music performance forms, for the sound reinforcement system, we used two sets of 14 JBL VTX V25II and 3 JBL VTX V20 Line Array Speakers as the main P.A. speakers; two sets of 12 JBL VTX A12 Line Array Speakers were used for side-fill; and four sets of 2 JBL VTX V20 Line Array Speakers for front-fill. For sub system, 16 JBL VTX S28 Line Array Subwoofers were suspended, 12 JBL VTX G28 and 12 JBL VT4880 Line Array Subwoofers were placed on the floor.
In addition, we used 12 JBL VTX F15 speakers for stage monitoring, the other 2 JBL VTX F18 speakers provided bass effects for the drummer, and 4 JBL VTX F35 speakers placed on the side stage for the monitoring. The JBL VTX F series is a versatile speaker that contains a patented high performance D2 Dual-Diaphragm High-Frequency Compression Driver, and a JBL patented differential drive dual voice coil, designed to provide users with high-quality and flexible audio solutions.
For Power Amplifier System, all 52 Crown IT12000HD Amplifiers and 22 Ccrown IT4X3500HD Amplifiers were from Crownused to provide great power. 2 Soundcraft Vi600 with mirrored backup function were used foras Monitor Mixinger to mirror standby for each other. And a 4-channel Shure flagship-level Axient®Digital Wireless System was offered for singers’ use on the scene.
The FOH engineer of the Music Festival mentioned that the sound of JBL's latest VTX series speaker is very easy to control, making the system alignment very simple. The Monitor engineer also has been a loyal user of Soundcraft for many years. He is fond of Vi’s intuitive and friendly operation, making the stressful work become enjoyable!
