The third "Sound Academy Award" and the National College Sound Major Teaching Communication Activity officially opened on November 18, 2017 in Beijing Film Academy. Dean of Beijing Film Academy Sound School Tong Lei presided over the Opening Ceremony. Vice President of Beijing Film Academy Sun Lijun, Deputy Secretary-General of China Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers Jing Fuli, and Chairman of China Association of Recording Engineers Wang Hongmin, addressed the opening ceremony respectively.
The jury representatives, experts, teachers and students from 36 universities across the country, and many industry practitioners gathered together in this event. As a professional audio equipment suppliers, ACE also commit to the development of Sound Major in colleges and universities, to contribute in the booming development of education industry, to support the colleges and universities foster more excellent sound professionals.
Many activities, such as professional lectures, workshops, seminars and exhibitions, were arranged in the three days event. On the afternoon of November 18, Qiu Chun, a visiting professor of Beijing Film Academy Sound School, made a wonderful speech named "reference monitor for film post and broadcast production applications".
As the chief architect of post-production project of China Film Group Corporation Film and TV Production Base, Mr. Qiu explained the principle of selecting the monitoring system in film sound production, ie. the Monitoring System in production / replay / awarding process should follow the same technical standard. As from the directors to the mixing engineers, they all expect that the sound that the audience hears in the cinema will be exactly same as the sound they hear in the final mixing. To achieve this goal, the monitoring parts should follow the related industry standards throughout the film sound production process, which includes audio edition, dialogue,foley recording, pre-mixing, and final mixing.

In the teaching communication part, ACE Senior Engineer Yang Mingcong, taking JBL 7 Series and JBL M2 Master Reference Monitor Speakers as examples, elaborated and analyzed three key technologies: the sound image control waveguide, dual amplification system and Differential Drive technology.
JBL sound image control waveguide is firstly adopted in JBL M2 Master Reference Monitor, and currently applying for a technical patent. It can present impressive sound image and extremely high-frequency details through the seamless switch between the woofer and high-frequency transducers, while its uniform directionality under the smooth indoor response can enlarge the optimal listening area.
Dual Amplification System can significantly reduce distortion, deliver better dynamic range and outstanding frequency response, while provide smooth response over 36kHz with exceptional output and very low distortion.
In this Monitor Speaker, the 728G low-frequency transducer utilize JBL's patented differential drive technology to reduce power compression, achieve higher continuous output, and improve the performance of linear low-frequency below 35kHz. These proprietary drivers enable 2-3 times output of existing studio monitor speakers.
For showing the stunning professional surround sound effect of JBL Reference Monitor Speakers, ACE built a dual-channel sound reinforcement system with JBL 708P, JBL M2 Speakers and JBL SUB18 Subwoofers in the studio of Beijing Film Academy.
In addition, ACE on purpose selected five different styles of music: Movies Original Soundtrack, Movies Special Effects, Opera, Symphony and Pop Songs. The attendees can carefully taste the outstanding sound quality of JBL Reference Monitor Speaker for sounds and music of films and TV plays.
In the audition session, the guests found that JBL speakers have not only one traditional "Emperor" listening position, but also providing a wide sweet spot significantly.
