On December 31, 2016, “Oriental Dreams 2017 Dragon TV New Year Festival Gala Evening” was grandly held. It was a gathering of many popular hot stars: Karen Mok and Lang Lang, Fei Yu-ching and SNH48, Zhao Liying and Zhang Jike, Tiffany Tang and Luo Jin, Lay Zhang, Show Lo and Zhu Bishi. Many of them brought the audience with surprise by showing something new on the stage the first time of their life.
The event was held at Shanghai Baoshan Sports Center. All the sound reinforcement system was provided by Shanghai Langnuo, and produced by Maxteam, the top audio team in China. The main speakers used twenty four JBL's classic products, VT4888 line array speakers. The side fill speakers consisted of sixteen VT4887 line array speakers from the same series, while the subwoofer system included twelve VT4880 line array subwoofers. For stage monitors, twelve JBL SRX712M multi-function speakers were used, and the front fill speakers are six JBL VRX932 speakers. All amplifier used Crown's flagship product, the ITHD, and two Soundcraft Vi6 digital mixing consoles were used as the FON and monitor consoles.
As an annual New Year Festival gala, it is committed to the public welfare in addition to bringing joy for the audience. This year, it is the gathering of popular stars of the year and the theme of the public benefit activity is “Fighting for Love”.
