Saying goodbye to Xinjiang Medical University, we headed to the Shihezi University in Shihezi City, Xinjiang, a place regarded as a pearl in the middle of Gobi desert. It is a “Project 211” key university and was born on the way that the Chinese People's Liberation Army marched to Xinjiang in September 1949. It is the combination of the Shihezi Agricultural College, Shihezi School of Medicine, Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Normal College and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Economics College that initiated in April 1996.
As the most important place for literary and artistic activities for students and teachers, the assembly hall requires the use of a sound reinforcement system with excellent performances. We finally chose the JBL SRX800P powered speaker after site surveys. The main system is comprised of four SRX835P powered speakers, two of SRX828SP which are for low-frequency expansion and the other SRX812P is for sound fill and stage monitor.
The JBL SRX 800P has integrated the HiQnet network. It is extremely simple to make an SRX800P system as it can be directly connected to the Ethercon interface or connected via a wireless router. Control of the whole system may be enabled via Audio Architect or HiQnet Motion Control iOS App without the need to walk around. The easy control won high praise from the sound engineers.
JBL SRX800P with its flexible installation and configuration is less subjected to space constrains and can be easily transported. This allows more diversified functions of the assembly hall.
A Soundcraft Si Expression 2 digital console is also used to control the input and combined output of the sound source signals.
“It is easy to use and has practical functions.” The leaders of the university said after use. The ESi may easily meet the various use needs of the assembly hall. The user no longer has to stay in a fixed place to operate the console and JBL SRX800P as the Soundcraft Si Expression series may also be operated remotely.
