The New Year’s bell rang when the “Endless Fun—Oriental Dreams 2016 Dragon TV New Year’s Eve Countdown Gala” reached its climax. The grand event this year had almost every popular figure of the year.
The event was held at the Mercedes-Benz Cultural Center in Shanghai. The three-sided grandstand design allowed the venue to maximize its accommodation ability. The main PA system consisted of thirty-two JBL VTX V25 line array speakers. Six JBL VT4889 line array speakers were used for fore stage sound fill. Twenty-four JBL VT4888DPAN active line array speakers were used for side sound fill. We also used twenty-four JBL VT4880 line array subwoofers. The amplifier system consisted of the IT12000HD and IT4x3500HD from the Crown ITHD series. Two Soundcraft Vi6 digital mixers were used: one active and the other standby. Seamless switchover was reached with the use of the BSS London series processor.
For the first time, the Dragon TV used the new OB van, ranking first in China and second in the world. The audio system was equipped with the Studer Vista5 M3 digital console agented by ACE. As an equipment supplier, ACE has been committed in providing the whole-course and all-sided services.
