The New Spring City 2015 Mid-Autumn Evening Party set three records of the Jinan TV Station – the largest scale, the most splendid stage effect and the most advanced technologies. The stage was erected on the Laimeng Lake. The untraditionally designed stage extended from the lake shore to the lake center. It was a four-level vertically designed large round stage. The performances were staged with the use of features, fountains and fireworks to create beautiful and dreamlike effects.
The sound reinforcement system of this party consisted of sixteen JBL VTX V20 full-frequency line array speakers, and four JBL VTX S25 bass line array speakers. The stage monitoring system consisted of four JBL VTX F15 listening speakers supplemented by twelve CROWN IT-4*3500HD and two IT-12000HD power amplifiers. The FOH mixer used was the SOUNDCRAFT Vi3000 digital mixer. For stage sound pickup, the SHURE ULX-D digital wireless microphones were used.
There was limited space as the stage was erected completely above the water surface. However, JBL V20 and S25 are small and light in weight and the installation angle can be predetermined based on the JBL LAC analog results before hoisting. This allowed quick hoisting. The PerformanceManager software used works very flexibly, allowing easy control and commissioning of each speaker group of the VTX line array and real-time monitoring through the performance. The JBL VTX V20 used the D2 dual voice coil tweeter and the bass differential drive technology. With a size of only 10 inch, it produces penetrating and beautiful sound. Four JBL VTX S25 subwoofers were used and this was enough to meet the needs of a dance performances. They produce clear and saturated sound and thus also meet the needs for language programs.
The SOUNDCRAFT Vi3000 digital mixer has 36 faders, 24 MONO/ST buses, 4 touch screens, and 96 fully-processed mixing channels. The sound engineer from Jinan TV station said: "We used to use the Studer Vista5. The Soundcraft Vi3000 this time amazed me for its powerful functions. Free in connection, easy to use and the status of each channel can be fully showed.”
Director Wang of the TV station who has always been responsible for the supervision and management of the wireless sound pickup system, said: “The Shure ULX-D wireless system has a stable RF and long battery endurance.” The equipment was highly praised by the leaders and engineers from the TV station due to its high quality as it had uninterruptedly run for more than 20 hours in the humid environment of the water surface!
