The two-day Midi Music Festival was launched on December 31, 2014 at the Shenzhen Universiade Center. Here it was the last stop of it in 2014 and the first stop in 2015 and three stages were set up: Tang Stage, Warring States Stage, and Midikids Stage. With the theme of “Singing with the heart – just following your own soul”, the festival had in all 50 rock bands performed Chinese and foreign rock songs of different styles.
The sound reinforcement systems for all the three stages were from the Harman’s top equipment, including the JBL VTX line array series speakers that best represented the “Hear The True” and the Soundcraft Vi series digital mixer which is known for is “Express Yourself”.
As the main stage, the "Tang" stage used a total of twenty for full-size three-way JBL VTX V25 line array speakers, divided into 2 groups, for main sound reinforcement, twelve JBL VTX S28 ultra low frequency line array speakers, two JBL VP7315/64DPAN three-way speakers for side sound fill, six JBL VP7215/95DPC two-way speakers for forestage sound fill, twelve JBL VTX F15 speakers for mobile sound monitoring. The JBL VTX V25 with its unconventional D2 dual-diaphragm dual voice coil compression driver unit provided robust power that fueled the fans’ enthusiasm.
The Soundcraft Vi series digital mixers are still recognized as the most practical consoles. The main stage used a Vi6 digital mixer for main sound reinforcement, and a Vi3000 digital mixer for stage sound monitoring. The Soundcraft Vi3000 digital mixer is Harman's latest masterpiece with a new internal DSP SpiderCore engine based on StuderVista 1, the Soundcraft Vi4.8 operating software and UAD powerful hard plug-ins.
As the second stage, the "Warring States" stage used sixteen new JBL VTX V20 dual 10-inch three-way line array speakers, supplemented by eight dual 15-inch JBL VTX S25 subwoofers. It also used the CROWN IT-HD digital amplifier with perfect sound restoration performances. The Soundcraft Vi1 digital mixer, which is known for being easy to operate, high-quality audio, high reliability and high consistency, was used as the main sound reinforcement console.
The third stage, the "Midikids" stage used eight JBL VT4889 three-way line array speakers powered by eight CROWN IT-HD digital amplifiers. The system with its powerful directivity and coverage allowed the audience to hear almost exactly the same sound. The mixer used is the Soundcraft Vi1 for main sound reinforcement.
The equipment withstood the severe test as 50 bands uninterruptedly performed for nearly 10 hours on 3 stages every day. ACE provided whole-course technical supports and the equipment. As midnight approaches, the enthusiasm of fans from the southern China climaxed!
