The first season of the Music Reality Show "Sing My Song" was broadcast on CCTV3 on January 7, 2014, and became the viewership champion in many entertainment programs. The program independently developed new program modes, focusing on original works for the first time, making music producer a protagonist, conveying the creative power of the new generation to the Chinese music industry, as well as reshaping the life of music and original spirit.
"Sing My Song" used the JBL VTX series line array speaker as the active reinforcement speaker. The shooting site was located at the Jiaxing University Gymnasium in Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province. The venue was a three-sided platform set up by layher, and audience, participants, bands, the 4 instructors are all located on the big stage. The effect of live sound reinforcement needs to meet the standards of live concerts. The active sound reinforcement needs to cover more than 300 audiences on three sides of the platform, the highest PA tuning position, and four instructors in front of the stage. The demand of live recording is that the line array can't cover the lens. Although the site is faced with these harsh conditions, these harsh conditions are a piece of cake for the JBL VTX line array with precise directivity and sufficient energy.
The active sound reinforcement uses 2 groups of 10 JBL V25 full-frequency line array speakers, with a large hanger at the top and a small hanger at the bottom, covering a very large area. There are 3 groups under the stage, each group of four JBL S28 subwoofers. The JBL LAC (Line Array Calculator) software quickly and easily calculates the projection area of the speaker, the energy distribution of each point, and the frequency response curve. Using 32 sets of Crown IT12000-HD digital power amplifiers, all connected by the network cable through the switch, using HiQnet PerformanceManager control software to upload the entire set of preset programs, it is very fast and convenient to pre-test the speakers before the on-site suspension, and conduct debugging of the live sound reinforcement.
During the on-site debugging and use, the famous tuner Jin Shaogang praised the sound performance of JBL VTX: "I’m not willing to change the good curve of JBL V25, the middle and high frequency is quite smooth and very transparent. JBL S28 can get deep inside, and the energy is sufficient.” JBL VTX is also very comprehensive in presenting various instruments, and the high-quality live concert level sound excites the audience.
The four instructors Liu Huan, Yang Kun, Wakin Chau, and Tanya Chua were impressed by the real “good songs, good voices”, which once again perfectly interpreted the excellent sound quality of the JBL VTX line array speakers.
