Renmin University of China is a research-oriented comprehensive university focusing on humanities and social sciences. It is directly under the Ministry of Education of China and a university included in the “Project 985”, “Project 211” and “Project 2011” initiated by the State. The Yifu Building Conference Center is located at the East Gate of the university. It is the venue where various lectures and forums are held and also an important place for holding recreational activities of the school.
During the summer holidays in July 2014, the school made comprehensive renovation of the Yifu Building Conference Center. The renovation included: the 500-seat first lecture hall, the 200-seat second lecture hall, the discussion style design first conference room, the stairs design style second conference room, and the VIP reception hall. ACE won the bid for renovation for all audio-video systems.
The audio system for the first lecture hall consists of four JBL VT4886 speakers and two VT4883 line array speakers as the main sound reinforcement system, which are provided at the left and right sides of the hall, respectively. The speaker is a true three-way design and performs well in the mid-high frequency. It is compact in design and can be suspended. The amplifiers are from the Crown's top IT-HD series that can be perfectly matched with the JBL VT line array. A Soundcraft Si Performer series digital mixer is used. With built-in graphic equalizer, digital effect pedal, noise gate, compressors and other peripheral processing equipment, it provides users with flexible and convenient operation functions.
The second lecture hall, the first conference room, the second conference room, and the VIP reception hall also used the JBL Control series speakers, Crown DSi series amplifiers, BSS London digital processors, Tascam series sources, and Shure microphones.
The whole project was completed after 45 days of construction just before the autumn term started. All the audio and video systems, lighting systems, intelligent control system equipment and software passed the rigorous three-month tests and were highly praised by the teachers.
