The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is the most influential official forum for economic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region. From November 7 to 12, 2014, the APEC conference was held in Beijing and the heads of state from 21 countries, including China, the United States, Russia, and South Korea, attended. On November 10, a welcome banquet entitled “Water benefits everything, sailing on the same tack” was held at the National Aquatics Center.
The PA system for the banquet was from the Harman. ACE as the product distributor provided the whole-course technical supports. The main control system consisted of two Soundcraft Vi6 digital mixers, one of which standby. This allowed seamless switchover, ensuring the safety and stability of the control center.
For sound reinforcement, we used the JBL's latest VTX series line array speakers: Eight V20 plus four S25 as the main sound reinforcement system; and ten F15, twelve F12 and four F18S rear stage sound fill. JBL V20 is JBL's latest dual 10-inch line array speaker and is equipped with the latest D2 treble driver. The maximum sound pressure level may be up to 140dB. The treble is still clear and delicate at this level. It is worth mentioning that the F series point source speaker used for rear stage sound fill has the frequency response curve basically consistent with that of the V20. This makes it unique in the industry.
In order to ensure the consistency of sound quality in each part of the auditorium, the sound reinforcement system was driven by sixteen Crown IT4x3500HD amplifiers and six IT12000HD amplifiers. Eight BSS London 800 series audio processors were used as the “safety lock” for the entire system. They acted as a bridge between the control system and the sound reinforcement system to ensure the absolute safety of the entire system. The quality of the performance would not be affected by the failure of any single device in the audio system.
The SHURE's top-grade Axient series wireless microphones were used. The system was provided with four wireless handheld microphones and one collar bar microphone, all using dual channel frequency diversity. As the safest wireless microphone, Axient employed the core components of the system, Spectrum Manager and ShowLink. This allows the Axient to scan the wireless environment in real time and automatically detect and avoid the interference.
In addition to the pleasant sound effects, the lighting design based on the four MA Lighting consoles was also a creative design. In addition, eight MA Lighting consoles were used for outdoor firework show.
Ten programs with Chinese national characteristics were performed. With the antique banquet hall, pleasant music, colorful and dazzling lights, the banquet was highly praised by the distinguished guests. ACE is honored to contribute to the success.
